Cervical Spondylitis
A lady patient aged about 59 years with history of shoulder pain radiating to the entire shoulder areas, upper back, scapular region & pain and difficulty in movements of the right shoulder joint with radiating pain to the right arm, more in the regions of the deltoid and triceps muscles.
He had previously consulted several general physicians, tried over-the-counter medications, and underwent multiple lab tests without receiving a conclusive diagnosis or relief.
Physical examination and clinical findings:
On examination of the neck, it was found that the patient had severe pain in her entire cervical region on both the sides, radiating pain along the lower neck regions going along the lines of the infra spinatous muscle and also severe spasm of the trapezius muscle. There was pain all along the arm and medial side of the forearm and she found it difficult to hold on to a glass of water firmly.

Clinical Diagnosis : Cervical spondylitis with lordosis and cervical radiculopathy.
Treatment advised:
Marma Bandhana Chikitsa for approximately 20 sittings (Bi-weekly). The patient was advised with Marma Bandana, ayurvedic Medicinal applications, bandaging along with clinically tested ayurvedic medicines and supplements given orally and for local applications during the course of treatment only.
Efficacy of Treatment
could hold objects and the glass of water more confidently. The patient regained her sleep without pain or numbness. The patient can lead a normal life going about her daily chores. Exercises were taught to strengthen her neck muscles.
